Press realease: Extension of Steward for covered and uncovered cultures of leavy cabbage, beans and kohlrabi

At request of DuPont, the Board for authorization of plant protection and biocides (Ctgb) has decided to extend the admission of Steward for the covered and uncovered cultures of leavy cabbage, beans and the uncovered culture of kohlrabi

Mark Meijers, network coordinator leavy vegetables:“Steward was really needed, growers of the protected crops; Chinese cabbage, pak choi or beans  do not have many plant protection products available in their cultures. We also are searching for an effective pesticide against aphids”, Mark Meijers of LTO Glaskracht Nederland.

The extension of Steward was a cooperation of the manufacturer DuPont De Nemours (Netherland) B.V. and the CEMP of LTO Glaskracht Nederland. The costs of the application and the review of the NLKUG application have been financed by the Fund Minor Uses of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the growing business and Nefyto. Part of the residue trails needed for this extension are exchanged within the EU minor use working group for Fruits and Vegetables.
